Buckwheat Pecan Pancake Camping Recipe

Prior to trip combine these ingredients in a ziplock bag.
  • 2 c buckwheat flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2/3 c wheat flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 2/3 c instant dry milk
In a water-tight container combine the wet ingredients.
  • 2 Tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 Tbsp molasses
Other ingredients needed include:
  •  2 1/2 c water
  • 1/2 c pecan halves
Toppings:
  • butter or margarine
  • syrup

Assume a moderate heat on campfire or camp stove. If you heat the pan well at first, no oil is necessary.
Combine all ingredients (except toppings) and mix well. If mixture is too dry add a little more water. Cook until golden brown on both sides. Serve hot with butter and syrup or save for a mid-day snack with jam.
